Gareth Southgate Station

After Gareth Southgate poor performance in the world cup, now we even name a tube station after hm. Such sly moves cannot justify the defeat of England team in the world cup and fool the public.

Lol. Our best performance in years isn’t worthy of praise? We actually felt like we could have won the cup which is something that rarely happens.

Whenever we faced a proper team in the world cup we lost, surely Southgate must be praised for proving that we are less than Belgium, Croatia and France.

It is only for two days. He didnt perform poorly either, when compared to previous attempts.

The only person fooled seems to be you.

loool imagine someone woke up from a coma and was told England made it to semos
I too feel England's semi final finish was not by merit but out of sheer dumb luck.

It is really miserable to be proud of coming fourth in a world cup that even Russia, Croatia and Belgium could reach the top.
Hopefully after 48 hours TFL will take off Gareth’s name from Southgate station.

This.

Dropped Rooney, brought in younger players and picked a squad of in form players from all sorts of clubs not just the ones in the current top 6. Got us to a World Cup semi final just two years after the worst England performance of all time vs Iceland and four years after being group stage'd in 2014. Massive improvement and it's been a good tournament with lots of good moments for England fans. We scored two goals in the last World Cup vs 12 in this one. Why do people have to be negative all the time?
Yes, we were lucky with the draw, however, it's not like we have done well against minnows in the past. Our defeats show what we already knew, we have no creative midfield to open up defences. But we do have some up and coming youngsters from the England Euro and World Cup winning squads.

So who are the best youngsters coming through?

Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Rhian Brewster, Angel Gomes, Ryan Sessegnon, Jack Grealish, who have I missed?

I think so. He should get more games this season.
The performance in the context of not winning a knock out match in 12 years is amazing.

If your benchmark is still the sven years, then your reference points are all wrong
gareth did good. he wasn't exactly working with the greatest talents though...

Southgate chose a group of post teenage inexperienced players who cost us the world cup. England was very lucky to face weak teams at the beginning which helped them come up, also thanks to the bad luck of some very good teams which were out early. Even with so much luck on our side we lost miserably to Belgium and Croatia, of course, against France our chances would be even below zero. Southgate’s choice of inexperienced and ordinary junior players came at heavy cost. Now England must wait for another almost 5 years to try again but next time we won’t be that lucky anymore!
How can you be triggered over the naming of a tube station for 2 days. Grow the **** up.
