So I’m looking to start driving soon and am looking at the prices- which as you all know are like quite expensive. I was wondering what is the average amount of time it takes to pass?

I’m looking to pass in hopefully the shortest time possible, to save a little money- hopefully driving with my parents after some lessons. Does 20 hours seem too unrealistic?

"10 lessons" is an incredibly vague statement. I did about 12 lessons as most of my lessons were 3 hours long after starting with a few 2 hour lessons. I also know people who say "yeah m8 I did 10 hours of lessons!" whilst conveniently forgetting to mention that they've had countless hours of practice in their parent's car.

I recently passed my test, e.g. on Wednesday last week. I had a total of 18 hours and passed my test with 0 minor faults. I had never driven before they started, so I feel like 20 hours is a very realistic target. Depending on confidence, not many people exceed 30 I imagine.
