Uk guarantor

Hello! In 2 months I will be a first year CRIC integrated Graphic Design undergrad at Anglia Ruskin & I am trying to apply to accommodation which requires a Uk guarantor.
I’m a European & don’t have anyone living in UK and I am not able to pay my accommodation in 2 payments so I really need a uk guarantor!
What can I do ?

Talk to Anglia Ruskin, work out how much you can afford and see if they will accept more instalments i.e termly or quarterly.
The other alternative is a guarantor service, but that is even more money. You are lucky it isnt a private rented hall as some of those demand the whole years rent upfront.

Hiya @heyitsmiasilver

I work at the Residential Service at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).

I am not sure if you are booking your accommodation through CRIC or a private company but as you will be studying with CRIC, it would be a good idea to get in touch with them: https://www.cric.navitas.com/accommodation

If you aren’t able to arrange an instalment plan that works for you, you could either look for accommodation elsewhere which won't require a guarantor (contact CRIC for help with options they can provide that don’t need a guarantor), or if you absolutely love the accommodation you have already chosen, @999tigger is right - you can use a guarantor service.

You'd need to double check the landlord of the accommodation you want to book accepts such services.

There is a charge for guarantor companies, which is usually calculated as a percentage of the total tenancy cost. Housing Hand (www.housinghand.co.uk) have a calculator on their website which would give you an idea of their charges before you sign up.

If you'd like any more help about guarantors or private sector accommodation information, please contact us on [email protected] 01223 698900.

Thank for the help! I spoke with CRIC, I was lucky to be selecting a accommodation where I can provide a EU guarantor! For students that don’t have the university letter, they are not able to use housing hand because they request the university acceptance letter.
@999tigger thx u so much! You were a huge help
Hi, @heyitsmiasilver where did you manage housing that accepts EU guarantors. I am really struggling.
