So I was deemed PERMENANTLY MEDICALLY UNFIT by the RAF due to the fact I HAD eczema as a child (last treated for in 2003), and blood tests showed a slight intolerance to pistachio nuts, I can eat them, they just make me feel abit odd for a minute or 2...

From what i have read, the RAF are a bit worse for these minor issues, than the other forces. So I have started an application with the Army for a very similar role, now I fully expect to be deemed medically unfit again, what with it still being Capita and all. But i'm curious if anyone has gone through the appeal process with the Army, if your appeal was successful and how long it took.

cheers

Hey I got classed as PMU in the army due to my eyesight. Long story short optician misdiagnosed me and after going to a different optician, they declared my eyesight good enough after giving me new glasses. My recruiting officer said there's no reason they shouldn't lift my rejection now. Waiting to hear back off the NRC about it. See if you can get a specialist or even a GP to write you a letter declaring you're medically fit? I'm pretty sure that's all they need and you should be all good, best of luck!!

How did it go?

I'm frustrated and hoping I dknr have to go through this again. I had eczema in my childhood and every now and then I get some flare ups but I dont go to the gp to get them treated. I hope it doesn't catch up to me. On top of it, I just realised WE pay for the opticians form.
