Yeah of course it'll be worth it, I'll be 22 when I start uni in September. Don't worry!

I'm 22, and off to Uni in September  Can't wait!

Good luck with your A-Levels!

I've a friend who started at 22. She's doing really really well. You wouldn't notice an age gap or anything like that. In fact people probably won't even be aware of your age.

It will definitely be worth it.

Yes, you shouldn't get hung up on your age. There's a little variation in ages anyway with most unis and courses so it probably won't be noticed.

I'm 23 and don't think there's really much in the way of a difference between 18/19 and 22/23 anyway.

Good luck!

So should I wait for higher grades at A levels and don''t worry of my age

Reply 6

I'm 22 and starting this September and I don't expect any problems, I'm really looking forward to it.

Don't worry about it.

Reply 8

Will it affect my studies or might I have problems in the universities to sit along with the juniors.

Reply 9

nothing wrong with it.

You'll be fine, on my floor there were 18 year olds and then there was a 21 year old and a 25 year old, there was no difference between us all based on age really. I'm going to be 20 when I begin!

In my block we have 18-23 year olds, if we hadn't of asked we'd have never guessed who was in their 20s

Reply 12

ahh theres no problem wit starting at 22.. my sister started at 21.. verging on 22.. there really is NO difference whatsoever.. i mean if you were 31 or something then yeah lol, but no there shouldnt be anything wrong with it

Reply 13

yeah i know people who are 23, 25 and its there first year at uni, though you don't really see him as 23

I started when I was 21 (now 22) and I do kinda feel a tad ''old'' and I get the usual oldie jokes, but its just light hearted fun. My friends are of a mixed variety in age and don't treat me any different to the majority. To be honest, it doesnt matter what age you go to University, you are there to study to get a degree. I wasn't ready at 18 anyway and plus I was still playing ''catch'' up to get enough points to actually go to University.

I wouldn't worry about it, just when you go - enjoy yourself and study hard

Nah you won't have a problem with your age. Quite a few of my friends are around your age and it's gotten to the point where I get so confused sometimes I see them as my age, cos they fit in so well. I don't think age matters at uni one bit.

I'll be 22 the week after I start and I really can't awake. I'm sure it'll be worth it

I'll be nearly 23 when I start my degree; but when I went to university the first time around, I was one of literally a handful of 18-year-olds out of the 200-ish students on my course. Most of the other students were at least a year or two out of school, and many were in their twenties or older. I wouldn't have had a clue how old most of them were without them telling me, so you're unlikely to stick out as a 22-year-old, IMO.

Chances are no one will even know unless you tell them. I have a friend who was 21 when we started but I didn't even realise until in the second year when she was telling me she'd dropped out of another uni previously!
