Any Lingerie/Bra questions??

I thought i should use my skill for a bit of good use out here..

if anyone has any bra fitting questions, lingerie questions feel free to ask!!!

I've worked in lingerie for 3 years, and am currently a bra fitter at John Lewis so ask anything

eg are you straps falling down on bras
can't find a decent strapless bra?

I'm here to help, also if you have any personal questions, for example abnormalities in breasts etc feel free to PM me, i deal a lot with masectomy, maternity, nursing and disabled customers so have experience with good breast health!

EDIT: if you're asking about bras, state your size!!

I'm a tiny 34C (I wear the straps at the tightest and the bra on the furtherst in hook.) I got measured in three different places recently but apparently my back size is unchanged :s-smilie:

I want special occasion cleavage on an everyday basis :teeth:

Is this one any good? http://www.brastop.com/SetDetails.aspx?setName=Gossard%20Superboost%20Satin%20Chocolate

ok well firstly, wear your bra on the loosest hook if its new, as you bring it in as the bra wears out over time, also hand wash a bra as it lasts longer and therefore saves you money!! Plus it's eco friendly lol

the straps don't affect the size, the strap length depends on an inidividuals height and how low down the breasts 'dangle' lol

I'm going to suggest, if you're wearing your bra this way to try a 32D...this is an equivalent size but if you're wearing it on the tightest hook i would reccomend it!!!

Good bras are elle macpherson, they're mostly balcony bras..and will give a fantastic shape, BUT are quite expensive £30-£40!!!

Again i'd suggest gossard, there's no annoying padding but they really do work, as they have a plunge style and push the breasts together! Any plunge bra will be good for showing off cleavage if you're wearing a v neck top..any other tops it's good to try a balcony

here's a link to where you can buy one, incidently most department stores will sell them, but just so you know what they loook like

Gossard bra (£24 with figleaves but just £22 with John lewis) http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=GO-4621

Any Full cup bra would be excellent if you want to 'flatten' yourself out a bit

I'm a G cup and would suggest to embrace the big boobies you have!! lol

Fantasie do some brilliant full cup bras, they are a tad expensive at about £26-£32 but they are good quality.

However, have you tried freya bra's, most of them are balcony, BUT their full cup ones are good for flattening out large ladies.

Here's a few links

and 15 quid at brastop :teeth:

Does having to wear my bras with the strap at the shortest mean that my boobs are too high :eek2: ?

I get what you mean about going down a back size, but I swear to you, mine are faaaaaaaaaar too small to constitute a D cup, as wonderful as that might be. :frown: I tried a 32D strapless bra in la senza once (because 34C ones fall down) but I couldn't get the thing to hook at all. Maybe I'm a 33 C.5  :getmecoat

I can't really say without looking at you and assesing your situation, but if they're on the shortest and they're not digging in then i don't see a problem with it

La senza fit really small round the back, so i'd say try the 32 in gossard..cause, well it's not la senza. feel free to go into a department store, try it on then buy it so you know it fits!!!

lol you may think you're small but you'll be surprised, the amount of young girls that come in and deny they are a D cup is ridiculous lol

without sounding pervy you can send me a pic of you with a bra on and i can see whether you do need a different size, its all on the visual assesment baby lol

wow that does sound pervy...

Oh I have to wear mine with the strap at the shortest and most bras still are far too low down...it's rubbish. Cs are always too big (like I feel i could get another breast in there) and Bs are always much too small, where the strap won't even do up and my chest is completely flattened. Awful.

usually i have to cut a chunk out of the strap somewhere and sew it together again. I know so many people who's bra straps are always too long, and nobody that actually needs them as long as they go. i mean really, who is that big?!

does this apply to all bras??? Try elle macpherson, because her sizes are slightly odd in that i reckon they're more half cup sizes than anything..

also, playtex do half cup sizes, try them?
do you know anything about sport bras?
i wanna know where to get a good sports bra for big boobs please

omg, why do you do that?? is it because they keep falling down??

Because thats an indication that your cup size is too big

yeah i know sports bras

i suggest shock absorber, they soak up sweat, have different styles avalible etc and are a good price at about £26, they also go up to G cups!!!

here's a link to one at John lewis: http://www.johnlewis.com/Fashion/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Shock+Absorber/1528/ProductType.aspx

nah, it's because even on the shortest thing the bra straps just fall off my shoulders. it is literally just the straps being too long.

i have the same problem with really large straps (haven't yet resorted to cutting chunks out of them though!) and my cup size definitely wasn't too small...

I find that, unless I wear bras designed to really push up my cleavage (lol!), i don't get enough support and my boobs end up really low :s-smilie: which isn't great really seeing as they're an F/FF!

Is there meant to be space in the cups? Like I'm wearing a 34C one now and can get my hand in them (it's made of soft thin material that's stretchy and so it's fine when my hand isn't in it...which is obviously 99.9% of the time...) but should there be this much room in it? And it's far too low down even with the straps at their tightest. My other bras are all far too low down as well. I've measured with the internet methods and it says I'm 36 B but all bras of this size have completely flattened my breasts and the back's practically fallen off they've been so low down and huge.
Is the being able to fit my hand in at the same time indicative I'm a B?
I'm really confused. Half size of B and a half has been too small as well.
