Liverpool Vs. UCL

Hello, I really need some advice on which uni to choose. I'm going to be studying History, but I can't decide whether I should choose UCL or Liverpool. I live near Liverpool and it's my local university so I could live at home (no cooking, laundry done etc.) and I have a lot of friends around locally. On the other hand, UCL is in a fantastic location and I'm thinking that a degree from there would probably give me more options in the future. I need some advice, please!

UCL, no doubt. It's better, and as it's far away, more of the 'university experience'.

UCL definitely. you want some more independence i guess.

If it's up to finances or if there is some other very good reason for staying local that is one thing, but not having to do laundry or cook shouldn't be factors in picking a university. Most people like to get away from home, and for the most part in my experience, those who do are better off because of it. Also, UCL seems so fabulous!

Are you mad? UCL!

I personally would have killed to go to UCL! But London isn't for everyone I suppose. I'm on a foundation course at university at the moment and, not staying in halls, I definitely feel left out. I have roughly the same group of friends I had at secondary school, which is ok as my course is only one-year, but for my degree I'm definitely moving out!
