Digital marketing apprenticeship - need opinions!

Soooooo, in March of this year I took a job as a digital marketing apprentice, prior to that I had been at college studying film and television whilst waitressing, and prior to that I did a customer service apprentice. Long story short nothing has worked out in the fact that each job/course felt worthless or made me extremely stressed and upset.

Now here’s the conflict - when I left college, I applied for two digital marketing apprentice jobs, one which sounded amazing, pretty much my dream job (working for a gaming retailer, 2 extra days holidays, paid lunches, loads of perks), and the other, close to home, small workplace. I never heard back from the first job, so I ended up taking the second one which is where I’m at now. My issue is that someone from the first job has contacted me 5 months later wanting to discuss my application.

There’s nothing majorly wrong with my current place - it’s easy to get to, easyish work load, flexible hours (I can book short notice holidays, take afternoons off if needed). However, there’s a total of 4 of us that work there including the boss, meaning there’s no managerial or supervisor status I can work up towards.

I do have some issues with my boss in the fact that he has never cleaned the office (dust, cobwebs, food on the floor) and doesn’t even have a sanitary bin! He can also be a slow with the times and often has me do tedious things like clear out his emails because he cant figure out how to. He means well, but sometimes i can’t deal with the fact that he makes the rest of us do work that he doesn’t understand himself, occasionally he will offer to take some work off us if we’re too busy, but we end up getting it back because he doesn’t know how to use the software... The company itself does not really specialise in digital marketing either, it’s a design company, I do more print work than seo, which does not relate to the job title at all. I worry that after my apprenticeship I won’t have enough experience to be hired elsewhere... to make matters worse, I’ve not had a tutor for the past 5 months so I’ve done no work towards getting the qualification!

It almost feels like I would be leaving to do the same job, just with better perks if I left. The other company is established and a whole lot bigger with room to progress in.

I just wondered what you guys would do in this situation? Play out the rest of the year so I get a qualification and have less jobs as an 18 year old on my cv? Or risk going for a new job?
