My mum didn't tell me what killed my dad until five years later when she told me I could have it. She's never deliberately said anything hurtful, just tried to protect me in her own way.

Asian parents tend to say these things, try to shrug them off and not let them bother you so much.

My dad once said that if anyone married me, they would divorce me after a couple of years because I'm useless. He was dead serious and trying to insult me with it during an argument and I've never forgotten it.

“ Go die in a fire” multiple times to me and my sister but only said when angry and pretty sure my mum didn’t mean it

Once to my sister “ I wish you were never born” I was 11 at the time and my mum was going through some mental illness so that may be why.

My mum once said to me "I hope our graves are far away from each other".. "I'm ruined because of you".. " you'll be divorced the day after you get married..."
The list goes on, but she usually says these things when she's angry, and I say pretty hurtful things back too, so we're kinda even.
It's not just Asian parents, all kinds of parents say hurtful things, just know not to mind them, they'll be hurtful for a while, but you should know that they don't mean it.
As for the aunt, just tell her straight up that if she's gonna be a ***** then she can leave cause her presence is unwanted.
Legit, none of my aunt have said any of this bull **** in front of me yet, but if they did I wouldn't hold back, tell them straight up.

Sorry dad god made me that way. Plus they're your genes.

'it's better if girls stay skinny, orelse no one will marry you'

I never had it to my face but hearing various family members that my biological father and paternal grandmother had told people that I was dead was pretty cutting. Good thing I see my maternal grandpa as my dad instead. At least he's been there for me from day one :yep:

My mum has bipolar disorder and was pretty ill when I was growing up, hence why I was raised mainly by her parents but even she never said anything as cutting as I was dead. She did say I was her sister though to any men she met. We have a great relationship now though years on, which is all that matters to me now.
