Buy one.

You'll need it for your school prom, then there's the freshers ball, subject balls etc, plus unless you have a growth spurt (which seems unlikely at 18/19) it'll fit you for a good while.

Never have done, never will do (not attending graduation).

How so what? :s-smilie:
Sports balls twice a year (Christmas and end of year), department ball once a year, freshers ball in first year and graduation in final year.

Probably worth buying one (unless you plan to change shape) as it may be cheaper (and easier) than renting.

Because i have absoloutly no interest in being handed a piece of paper by someone i've never met and whom is responsible for my university being in several million pounds of debt.

Why is the University of Sheffield in several million pounds of debt?

Umm so far, twice, (Fresher Ball, Winter Law Ball) and plan at least once more (Summer Law Ball) before the year is up.

The sports guys always seem have suits one for some other event or other haha!
I also wear mine to lectures just to add a bit of pizazz.
k thanks everyone but reue...

Now where on earth did i ever say or even suggest that i hated Sheffield, or indeed Sheffield University?

I'm going to assume it was you who neg repped me with:

completely nonfactual, unrelated and unreasonably negative

Tell me, have you actually bothered to read the University's latest financial reports? The reports clearly state the university has current net debts of £50.1million. The same report also shows the university make a net loss on continuing operations of £2.159million in the last financial year.

My initial statement was totally related because i was specifically asked for the reasoning behind my initial post.

Please, do tell me where at all i have been unreasonable.
what does that have to do with graduation? or the person who will hand you your diploma?

and to be honest, i've seen you posting on many different threads, and you always seem negative... idk what it is, it just gives off the vibe that you don't enjoy yourself at Sheffield at all, and that you really don't agree with anything the university had done or is doing.

No, i dont agree with certain things the university is doing, but i have just backed up all my claims with factual evidence to support exactly why i don't agree with certain actions. Surely I have a right to my personal opinion, especially when that opinion is supported by facts.

It has everything to do with MY graduation. If i feel the university is underperforming due to bad decisions being made by management then I do not particularly want to go through a cermony with them at MY graduation.

Did you see the hidden message in that last paragraph? The graduation is 100% voulentary out of personal choice, and it is my personal choice to not want to go. How dare you flame me for that choice, especially considering you have yet to even start university and so are at least 3 years off of your graduation compared to me being 3 months off of it.

On an unrelated note: I absoloutly love sheffield, But i cannot see why that would instantly mean I'd need to love the decisions made by the university management.

* Edit: Yet another neg rep, once again not actually worth any neg rep, so obviously from someone with less then 150 posts... hmmm.. suspicious :P

except for the 2000/3000 that did go lol...

hell more people went to Freshers ball than voted in the Union Elections

I think I know one person who actually went, and I know a lot of people. Besides, it's easier to hire a tuxedo because you can normally buy insurance for a couple of quid, which is crucial because you WILL spill something on it.
