This is a Golden Thread, which means you'll have the opportunity to win a £250 Amazon voucher and other prizes if you take part before the 31st of August! :w00t::woo:

We've all surely got one field that we'd like to learn more about, that you may have read about once and seemed very interesting. Most courses and school subjects are quite broad so we usually don't get to just choose the one thing we like the most. So,

What would be the one topic you'd want to study most, be it one that exists or not?

I personally would want to be studying some form of spacecraft design, or engineering in space :moon:. I always get really interested in the idea of space stations and spaceflight. How to build cities in space, different forms of propulsion to achieve the speeds necessary to visit other stars. It seems like something that will end up being pretty important to humanity as a whole. Plus I'd have an excuse to go to space. I'd like that.

Be sure to check out the other golden threads that are around!

1. Post a gif or meme about how you’re feeling in the run up to results day
2. Find out the song at number one when you were born
3. What is your secret dream job?
4. Share essential advice for those starting their A-levels
5. If you could study anything what would you choose?
6. Dear teacher.....
7. What would you send to Room 101?
8. What is your first memory of school?
9. Which celebrity would you choose to become Prime Minister?
10. Which GCSE subject would you ban and why?

Me too, if I wasn't afraid of heights and if I didn't HATE physics. But I LOVE space!

I'd love to study music, particularly the cello. My second choice would be the Norwegian language.

My perfect degree would be something that satisfies me creatively and academically. It would be an English Lit course with a focus on scripts and plays allowing you to write and perform and create, as well as looking at the social and historical contexts of literature because I adore history too.

Of course, this would come with the ability to engage in optional, random modules like rollercoaster engineering and veterinary studies.

It would be examined in modules - not just through written tests but through class work, participation, independent research, essays, speeches, performances, portfolios etc.

I’d love a Theatre course that focused solely on Theatre through the Ages. Seeing how plays on both the stage and in writing have developed over the past few centuries, would be interesting. ☺️

Forensic Psychology.

Combining my instinctive inquisitions towards the human mind and crime would give me a purpose in life, something to wake up to, a reason to change this world.

First thing I ever wanted to be was a pilot, preferably for commercial airlines like emirates for example. I’d take this career over what I’m studying however there’s not really a degree for it and you have to pay your own £80,000 for flight hours and training etc but this was my earliest dream and still is!

The history and importance of fan fiction; where we watch/read real works then fanfictons, write our own and analyse others too. (This also works with critically acclaimed works that are based upon other works)

I’d love to do a class that, rather than learning a language, helped me to invent and put together my own new language 😊

Would also like to learn djembe drumming and how to pilot a helicopter.
