Has anyone ever been accepted by Birmingham medical school with an SJT band 3?

I've looked at schools' websites, but most are vague. For instance, Birmingham says they use your SJT in the interview stage. Two questions: (1) How exactly is this used -- do they ask a few questions to judge if your band 3 is an accurate reflection of you? (2) Does anyone have a realistic chance with a band 3 at Birmingham? That is, has anyone any experience getting in with a band 3?

Hi - sorry you haven't had a response to this yet. I'm just going to bump the thread in the hope that someone sees this and can help :h:

I don't know about Birminham, but DD got three interviews and three offers with an SJT band 4. How she got that result, we'll never know because she had always scored band 1 and 2 in all the practices she'd done and her ability to make decisions based on ethical consideration is exactly what her strength is in!
She was absolutely devastated when she got the result (her overall score was in the 8th percentile) and thought it was the end of her chance to study medicine next year. It turns out that quite a number of schools don't consider the SJT because they don't believe it is a reasonable test of ability to good decision making. As it turned out, it was almost a blessing as it made the choice of schools to apply to easier.

Forgot to add that DD called each school she applied to and asked them if they took it into consideration, even when their website said they didn't, just to be 100% certain. They all responded clearly (saying they didn't)

Wow! Congrats to your daughter! Three offers with an SJT 4? The rest of her applications must have been amazing. Where did her offers come from?
