It was FANTASTIC!

I think she 'got turned'. Argh: terrifying.

(ps, it was 'poppy shakespeare')

Man I missed the end...
What happened?

Yeah I just realised it was Poppy. Good lord The girl who left before was polly! Lemme see if I can change it.

I saw the advert and it freaked me out. So I steered clear of having Channel 4 on at the time.

Where did you see up to?

N (I didn't get why she was called that) turned nearly normal while Poppy was becoming slowly more "mad". Then they thought that Poppy was actually a normal person sent it to judge all the others against to see how "mad" they were to choose who to discharge. N ran to Poppy to tell her this but Poppy had ODed on pills. N was then discharged but got all reclusive and hid in her flat, and wouldn't answer the door to Poppy. Poppy then tried to kill herself again, N tried to be normal to convince the board members Poppy was normal, and lost it when they told her Poppy tried to kill herself again. It ended with Poppy on "the 7th floor" in a bed, obviously very ill, and I think N was "normal"...
Woah that is complicated.

Lol thanks! I saw up to where Poppy overdosed and N was discharged
But yeah, it seemed good. Was distracted for much of it trying to get a damn Reading ticket though!

Makes you wonder doesn't it?
There's nothing scarier than the thought of social control...

It was brilliant, very powerful. It was horrible to see how someone so normal and sane completly changed. Kind of like a reversal of roles between N and Poppy

I watched it. It made me feel really uncomfortable (I didn't like it)- which is probably good on the programmes behalf. I think It showed that if you tell someone there mad/ bad etc they are likely to believe it. Which I thought was really cruel. And because The main character was being supported and encouraged to by Poppy that made her better. But Poppy wasn't receiving the same support or encouragement.

^ I felt uncomfortable watching it too.

It reminded me of 'A clockwork Orange' and 'Stuart: A life Backwards'

I watched some of it, and from what I seen, it was really good (:

But I was kinda switching between that and Skins, so i missed out on a lot, hahaa.

The book (by Clare Allan) is amazing also. I'm going to watch this on 4OD later so I hope it lives up to the book.

Is it a book as well?

I watched it, though it was really sad.

I meant to read the book ages ago. Wasn't the author supposed to have spent some time in an institution herself?

I just watched it on 4od. Very powerful stuff.

Yes, she did. Do read the book. It is amazing and I'm not really expecting the TV adaptation to live up to it if I'm honest, but will probably watch it anyway.

Just 4od'ed it. It was really quite great, but at the same time has really really unsettled me  Why was Poppy there in the first place was she mad or just being used as an experiment, so many questions......

Reply 19

The book answers that question
