The clearing vacancy lists will change constantly up until the close of clearing on 23rd October. It's impossible to know how many places are available for each course, but these will increase and decrease as students either find places in clearing or decline offers which have been confirmed. Generally we would expect the overall number of clearing vacancies to decrease as time goes on.
The clearing list will constantly change as places become available and people take spaces up. Keep an eye on it and places become available on the day of A-Level results day
The clearing spaces available will almost definitely change on results day and in the first few days after. It's more likely spaces will come available due to missing their offers by a long way, as there aren't usually huge numbers of people turning down offers on results day.

In the days afterwards, courses may appear and disappear as unis will give out lots of verbal offers that may not be accepted. A small number of students will also change courses via adjustment.

If you see a course in clearing and it disappears, or there's a particular course you want that isn't listed, it may still be worth giving the uni a call. Chances are, there won't be any spaces available but sometimes unis don't list courses that may still have one or two spaces left as they don't want to be overwhelmed with phone calls for them.

Are you a Scottish student looking for places in Scottish universities? If so then it's unlikely that any more places will become available. The funding system in Scotland means that there's a shortage of places. If you're willing to travel to England, Wales or NI then you'd have a much broader range of choices available.
