Perfect combination to get into Lse from my point of view is

Double math + Economics + History( Politics, psychology or any essay based subject) + A science subject( Physics, Chemistry etc)

Almost all the people I know do these subjects got in.

I'm not sure if there's a 'perfect' combination, but Maths + FM is definitely recommended.

My friend does Maths, FM, Econ, French and Chem and she got an offer.

There's no such thing as a perfect combination. For starters, you've listed 5 A-levels, which is excessive. Further maths is not all that important for straight Econ; only Maths is important. Any four traditional subjects form a strong set of A-levels for your application. It really doesn't matter if there's little variety, e.g. all three sciences plus Maths, or economics, Maths and two essay-based subjects.

I can't stress this enough; (aside from cases like yours where you didn't do GCSEs) the most important differentiating factor LSE use for BSc Economics is your set of GCSE results.

ditto - a good range of academic subjects, inc Science and Art with Maths and Economics.

In general, GCSEs are crucial but there are exceptions if you have a good reason. From the feebacks received by unsuccessful applicants and from my experience, personal statements are also important.

Good luck!

Maths, Further Maths, Physics, History, Economics, and 8+ A*s.. sounds like a perfect combo.

yeah, agreed. though some might opt for chemistry instead of physics, but at least one science is preferable

Oh 2008 entry? Congrats!
I was accepted for 2007 entry with Maths, Economics, Physics and Chemisty. Doesn't really matter as long as you have some quantitive subjects including maths and perhaps a decent writing type subject, mine being Economics.
Lol, nothing is perfect. Your choices are ideal and very interesting intrinsically, but offers are given on many factors, not only on what subjects you do. FMaths is not neccessary and a science isn't neccessary, there are many with offers who don't have that, and many who have those but don't have offers.

Its about the complete package, which starts from a great set GCSE's, excellent AS, and awesome PS, reference and predicted grades.

I got in for Management, which is not the same as Economics but I do have something similar to what you are suggesting for subjects.

My subjects are Maths, History, Economics, French

Will I have my chances severely affected due to the lack of Further Maths?
Also if I get high UMS in Maths and Economics and my head of year writes this in my personal statement, will this help me.

GCSEs 7A*, 4A

Too low for Economics LSE?
