Entering A levels in September 2018

My son has his IGCSE results from last year. His DOB is 30th April 2002. Right now he has completed his IB First year, and not expecting good predictive scores. Please advise if he can start afresh A levels in London and which schools this year, as admissions are already closed. He got a distinction in IGCSE last year but slipped this year. His final IB score may be better than predicted so he may have to miss a year anyways as admissions are done based on predicted scores. The colleges he wants to go to will not accept his application based on predictive. Please respond. Thank you

It is up to the school.
They can take him if they wish.
It seems a lot of them are full based on predictive grades.
There is a second chance based on actual grades when the results come out. Its also a time for when some people might drop out or not make the grades.
Your son is in a trickier position as his application is based on actual IGCSE grades, but it is up to them how they will view his performance in IB, some might give him a second chance and others might be more reluctant.
You are going to have to ring round and see who might consider your son based on the information provided.
