From an international students point of view, does the ranking of the medical school matter? All UK medical school degrees are accredited by GMC, but outside UK does the status remain the same ?

I just have a small question.

From what I know medicine graduates from UK med schools but without UK passports are able to compete for foundational programs and pursue further specialisation on equal footing as UK graduates. Is this true?

So far from what I heard, it's true.. (for now). Things may change in years to come .

I’m not sure if this is the right thread but I wanted to ask what is the start of medical school like? Before classes begin will there be something like a white coat ceremony as in North American medical schools, or a day where families can come see the campus and the university? Thanks

doctors in the uk don't wear white coats, so there is definitely no white coat ceremony that i know of. the start of medical school is pretty basic, you are likely to have the usual welcome lectures and get to meet your fellow medical students.

each uni should have an offer holders day where families and prospective students can come see the campus and university. your parents could come around help you settle into uni and uni accommodation at the start during freshers week as well.

This will affect Singapore students who have deferred entry because of national service.

Hello! I'm an international student applying for medicine to Oxford, Imperial and UCL in 2020, and I'm wondering if I could/ should try emailing Imperial and UCL to request for my interview to be arranged in December (since their website says they hold interviews throughout December to March) so that I can finish all my interviews in 1 trip instead of having to make multiple trips? I know it's a bit early to be thinking about interviews since I haven't even submitted my UCAS application yet but I just don't want a case whereby I get an interview offer from Oxford, fly there, come back, then receive my interview offer from Imperial/ UCL. Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

You should email them during interview time to organise this but now is way too early. For now you could just ask whether they can do that for reassurance
