With UMS, how extraordinary is 99% average.

I read of a child who achieved 2 9’s and 10 A*’s in the 2017 GCSE exams, with an average of 99% for the GCSE’s.
Their school made no mention of the 99% pass mark, so with UMS, I was wondering whether it was extraordinary or not. Also where might they be placed nationally. For example top 50, top 200 etc.
If it help, subjects included Greek and Latin, higher maths etc.

99% is a very good average - I don’t see why the school didn’t mention it but it’s a very impressive score. Most people would be well below that and even other A* students would be lower.
