The BBC has published an article about people's experiences with summer jobs.

Some believe that a summer job will help you learn essential skills, teach you more about the working world and give you control over your finances.

Others saw summer jobs as a "punishment" and a "waste of resources" for employers where you're just a "mindless drone".

What do you think? What summer jobs do you have or have you had? Did you benefit from having a summer job?

the people hating on summer jobs clearly don't have brain cells.

my last summer job was a true character building one doing door to door fundraising for a homeless charity.

currently i'm doing a quantitative analyst internship at a small investment strategy firm whose clients oversee £10bn worth of capital.

before that I've done a bunch of things from retail, to founding a company, to just laying around in the summer, to research, to travel etc etc
