The passing of another true statesman and Nobel Peace Prize winner.

'Suffering anywhere, concerns people everywhere'.

Not without his critics and controversial in some of his decisions and actions, nevertheless he succeeded in much reform within the UN including the goals to halve extreme global poverty and halt the global spread of AIDS, successfully claiming a backlog of debt owed to the UN by the US and streamlining the institution.

Definitely not without criticism but would generally say he was a good world leader and activist. :yep: RIP

I am not sure why people keep using "first Black African". It is not as if Boutros x2 was a white colonialist running a South African farm.

Because people like to split people up into groups.

Can’t be that he was good at his job etc it has to be about how much skin pigment he has.
