Access Course to Medicine - Do any Universities accept them?

Hello everyone. I am currently 19 and did my A-Levels last year, I didn't do the best so couldn't get into Medicine via the normal route. I am aware that for some access course I may have to wait a few years to be 'out of education' I am considering doing an Access Course for a year to then be able to study Medicine at a later date. I haven't come across any University that accepts an Access to Higher Education Diploma instead of A-Levels. Does anyone know of any? I know Manchester does but because I have already done A-Levels they won't accept me. I have found the Access Course but I don't know if it's worth it if no University will accept them. Thanks!
