Hey they say about 24 hours, I had mine taken out a couple of months during that heat wave so only kept mine on for about half a day. My nurse said its not compulsory to wear it just reduces the bruising and makes it easier not to knock.

The plaster though will have to stay on for about a week

Did you get another implant put in? I decided to go on the pill for a bit but has been making me really sick so going to get another implant put in soon

OOoo okay i had a big plaster of my stitches. If you take of the bandage it might be worth sticking a plaster over the stitches for a few days to keep it extra safe....

Yeah the pill has been so horrible for me a few hours after i take it i feel so sick it feels like there is a lump in my throat for about 4/5hours and feels like i could throw up. Also made my travel sickness super worst and was really irritable and dizzy.

I have previously had 2 implants in I get on okay with them have quite irregular periods with it in though.

I haven't really got many other choices the coil doesn't work on me, and the injection sounds horrible. I hate to think of all the hormones floating around my body though x

I found the pill made me very sick and suffered from headaches the implant also caused me to feel dizzy and suffer with headaches yesterday at the clinic where I had implant removed the nurse said the coil is a best option but I don't feel comfortable to have that it might be something for you to look into as its supposed to be better than the pill and implant

I would really recommend the injection - I've tried everything in the past and had issues with them all: pill - still had heavy painful periods plus I get migraines and have a family history of stroke so can't go on it again anyway; implant - still had heavy painful periods; coil - was horrific having it put in and taken out, I passed out from the pain and I just couldn't face it again - although my periods were light. With the depo injection I've had no periods at all, it's wonderful. It's only once every 3 months so you don't have to remember to take a tablet every day or anything.

CrazyKittenLady it's just an injection in your lower back it's like a little scratch x

I had the same problem with the coil and so have a few of my friends its horrible would never recommend.
The only thing that puts me off the implant is the lack of periods as I really like having them as feels natural and what my body should be doing
