Things to do when you have no friends

Please keep anon. I don't want to waste my life away but Ive never had any proper friends to do things with I only have 1 and she has a family now. Ive always blamed not having a life on me having no friends ever since I was 16 all Ive really done is stay in every night on the pc even though Ive wanted to go out. When I think about it though its my own fault because I can still have a life on my own right? The only 2 things that bother me are its unsafe being alone where I live, I could get mugged attacked, raped anything and also I wonder if people will think im weird for doing everything by myself. Im a member of a club but don't have any friends there and im not too big on clubbing. So how can someone with no friends not waste their life away? My only friend is my german shepherd puppy! lol

You're only 18, loads of time to go clubbing. Maybe you could join some sort of youth club or take up sports, something like that? When i've got nobody to hang out with, such as tonight, I just watch TV so i'm not much help :hugs:

Ive been attempting to make friends for ages, I might as well just live life on my own and if I get any friends along the way then cool.

The first issue you need to address is your fear of your personal safety. With that hanging over you I think you may struggle for a longer period of time.

Apart from that, remember that it takes all kinds. Going out and clubbing maybe the 'norm' but in no way is it the only way to enjoy life. I would recommend going out and doing the things you like, so what if your on your own to begin with? By going to the places you enjoy then you will be with people who like the same things you do and if you make the effort, friends can be found there.

Just don't make it a big deal, you ain't in a competition with anybody and there is no right or wrong way to live a life.

Good luck

you see, if you continue to keep this fatalistic attitude then you are not going to get anyone to want to hang around with you... well maybe suicidal people but they are only fun for a certain amount of time:rolleyes:
But yeah i know its hard to be positive in such situations as yours, but you just have to keep your chin up and not get all mopey and all "Oh man my life sucks boo hoo" on everyone.
BE POSITIVE!!!
i was in the same situation as you, all my besy buddies went off to uni and now ive lost all touch with them, so like i had to make friends from scratch, being on a gap year has helped me socialise with more than just certain types of people.
you just have to put yourself out there, this is the only time you can pimp yourself to ecveryone else and not be labelled a slut for it
