It sounds like a mixture of drunkness and mid-life crisis. I might be wrong, but either way, don't let it get to you, because I'm sure it's not how he really feels.

I agree with solihp. Although it must be horrible to hear that.

:hugs: ****ing *******.

I wonder if the two words I just written will actually show up, but sorry, to put it simply, your dad's a mushroomhead.

(sorta scared of the same thing actually )

Reply 8

I know it is horrible but sod him. All my family have disowned me the best thing you can do is concentrate on what is important to you.

Reply 9

I'd have to agree with solihp, sounds like he is confused. Let him sober up, and still give him a mouthful of how you felt when he said that. I sincerely hope what he said hasn't made you too upset, because no child deserves to hear that.

that sucks. my dad chose money over me if that's any comfort :p:

Wait for the **** to sober up and see how it goes then.

(Though I don't entirely buy that his drunkenness made him say stuff he didn't mean. Indeed, alcohol can bring deep lying stuff to the surface. Again, you probably won't know until he sobers up and you ask him about it, and even then I wouldn't bet against you being left confused.)

Reply 13

In my experience, alcohol can make you say stuff you didn't mean because it magnifies and mutates passing thoughts of the moments into artificially bigger issues.

*Big fat hug*
Talk to him when he's sober.
Drunken phone conversations are never good.

im sorry to hear that, are you okay?
