I had a brace when I was 15 for 2 years and it straightened them but now they have all moved back into the same position:mad: My mum says im being self obsessive but what do you think, are they crooked enough to ruin looks? I don't know whether to pay for another brace.

didnt u wear ur retainer??? thats the purpose of it...to trick ur new teeth into staying in the same position..

well, my friend did exactly what u did, and he just aksed for a retainer (a lot less expensive)..and so far, he sees improvements...so yeah, no i dont think u need new braces..

Coming from someone who thinks bad teeth can totally ruin a person's looks...yours aren't that bad. They're clean, not very crooked, not overlapping, and there are no gaps in them  It could be much worse. Yours aren't perfect, but they're nothing to waste energy worrying about.

:ditto: Mine are worse, and I don't need a brace.

No ones' teeth are perfect, personally, i have stupidly pointy canines, and am slightly paranoid about how much gum in holding in place the bottom front teeth (damn.. forgotten my KS2 biology already :p:). I think people are starting to thing that, just because all these american celebrities teeth are perfectly straight, and sparkly white, thats how teeth SHOULD be. Er.. no. i'll take my pointy canines kthxbai. They're not too bad as they are, certainly nothing to start fretting about- i certainly wouldn't say that yours look like the kind that its like "OMG, get a brace woman'! so thats a plus! As other people have said, maybe just ask your dentist if theres anything you can do? Do you still wear your retainer, or did you stop using it?

I wore braces for two years and followed EXACTLY what the orthdontist said and one tooth at the front of my bottom row is at least 20 degrees away from where its supposed to... and the one beside it sticks out more...
So in your case your just being obbcessive

I dont mind about mine... yours seem fine to me.

Wear a retainer when you go to bed and after you get back from school/college/whereever

Don't they sell something called invisalign?

omg thats like £2000 and you have to wear it all the time. sometimes forever. but theres lingual braces that go behind the teeth. basically some peopel have to wear a retainer forever to stop them moving. mines have moved a bit and ive been wearing mine nights for 10 years or so. i was thinking of getting veneers over the odd crooked ones but again they are $$$$$!!!!

10 years and they're still moving?! OH MY GOD.

I know my teeth have moved in the daytime, b/c when I put my retainers on every night, they don't fit exactly, but I'm gonna have to wear my retainers for another 6 years minimum?! I find wearing them far too awkward when there's a significant other in the equation...

nah they are fine

My teeth moved back a little bit after braces even though I wore a retainer.. Sounds like its not that rare. Yours look fine, a gap opened up in mine though :frown: Oh well.
