Warwick still no reply, what's up?

Hi all,

I am just amazed by Warwick... I sent my offer at start of December, and have not heard from them since!

As soon as I sent the offer, i got a mail confirming that they got my application.

Afterwards, I also got something about that they will let people know if they have been accepted, refused etc. soon after close date for UCAS apps.

I thought of sending them a mail, or smth, but i don't want to rush them.

It is natural for someone to be interested, right? Just to know if you're accepted, refused etc.

What do you think?

They obviously hate you, and as such are not replying so that you cannot reply to offers and will miss the deadline. As such you will not be going to university next year.

What did you do to piss them off so much?

One of my friend applied to Warwick to do languages and she was informed of acceptance in February ro something.

May be it depends on your course but I think you should phone them and ask them about it, it shouldn't come across as rushed or anything!
And there was this thing with Impreial last year I think, some people didn't got informed and phoned them and then realised their email didn't get to them ro something. @__@.

I would definately phone and ask if they haven't replied by now

Firstly what subject is it?
e.g. for economics they are still sending out offers.

Secondly what deadline are you referring to?
i.e. the January date is not a deadline for applications.
i.e. they can if they want to (and Warwick do!) wait and see what terms up after then.

Don't read into not getting an answer despite having applied so long ago, with Warwick that's irrelevant, they get down to doing it when they're ready really.

Unfortunately with Warwick, offers are often made and not made very...very...slowly. Sending a letter is unlikely to do anything at all, you WILL know one way or the other eventually, I know the waiting game is horrible but it is in the uni's interests to make sure they have the best undergrads.

I emailed them just before the easter hols to ask how long it would take to hear from them and got rejected the next day

I personally would now call up, as you've been waiting so long. Everyone I know who applied to Warwick has now heard, even the other English people, who waited so long.

They got back to me really quickly - I applied on 4th October and had my offer by the 30th

Good luck!

Dont worry you'll get a reply soon. i had to wait ages for mine aswell. I applied for mech eng and i had to wait ages for a reply, warwick are loooong that way. Definitely course does matter coz your course department has to go through all the applications and obvioustly the more popular the course the more ppl they have to reply to.

You've got a few options I guess. If you don't want to go to Warwick and have already decided where you'd like to go then you could withdraw your application and thus make your decision on UCAS. Or, if you are undecided/want to go to Warwick, then I'd just wait. There is still a decent chance of getting an offer.

I applied at the start of November for History and Culture and didn't get a response until March. I wasn't hopeful of an offer as a friend of mine, who applied for History and Politics at the same time, got her offer in early Feb. But, I got an offer and other people still are, so be positive. And, try not to let it worry you.

Good luck where ever you decide to go...

It's economics...

I got this mail...

"...The University of Warwick is committed to fair admissions and will give full and equal consideration to all applications received by the UCAS deadline of 15th January 2008..."

"As such, some decisions may not be finalised until all applications have been received. Soon after this date we will let any applicants awaiting a decision know when they can expect a reply"

Soon after? Boy, perhaps my idea of soon was wrong... But reading into forums, i noticed that even other people wait long, long... long...

I do have an offer from UCL, and that's what I think I will take.

I still just wanted to know what's up with my app, just to know...

Reply 14

I got my offer in May two years ago, and I sent out my application beginning December. Really pissed me off back then but somehow I still ended up putting them as my firm.

i used to hear stories like this...never knew i would be a victim of circumstance

I got my offer quite quick but I have the exact same issue with Bristol. They haven't sent a reply yet and I'm still debating on choosing them over Warwick because I've heard the nightlife is better there..I'll probably end up choosing Warwick as my firm though because I've heard it's a pretty good university.

I applied for law btw.

Phone them up - they taken over 5 months to reply to me (with a rejection, no less )
