Should I retake GCSE maths?

I got a grade 5 in maths which is equivalent to a C. I'm worried this grade won't be good enough to study medicine at university.

Check the course requirements on the websites. They may require you to have at least a 6.
Would highly recommend resitting, if that fails remember A-levels are waaaaaay more important
I’m in the same situation I want to do medicine but got a 5 in maths. I rang a few unis up yesterday and checked a few websites, and the general answer that I got from them is that they don’t take resits. There are about 5 unis who will accept a 5 in maths, so just apply wisely.

Sorry. My mistake. I knew in the back of my mind it was about 5- I just checked properly and these are six you can apply to.
