Tuesday 4th September 2018 - Day 2
Someone really needs to show me how to glo up this GYG... like, with the images and scrolling text and all that cool stuff, you know?
Anyway, today. Today was actually pretty good! I think I'm starting to become more comfortable with my college and with sixth form life in general. Much more comfortable than Friday, anyway.
So basically, I don't really have a lot of free periods; just a lot of late starts and early finishes, not to forget one free period on Friday afternoon.
Today started at 12:15pm with History. After I had finally got my school email set up on the library computer, I made my way to the lesson. And, you know... last History lesson was alright, but this lesson... it just dragged on SOOO much. Like, literally, all I remember is my teacher talking about the different religions of the British Isles in the 1600s... Protestantism, Catholicism, Puritanism, Presbyterianism.... all the 'isms'... I didn't know I was in an RE class!
Then came lunch. Me and some friends decided to split up and go to different places. I chose to go to Subway, even though I don't really eat it all that much. I bought a sandwich thinking it was gonna be £3, £4... and the total came up to £10... which is why I really don't eat there. Oh, well.
Afterwards, we had English Lit; our first ever lesson. My teacher was really helpful in letting us understand what the 5 AOs were (turns out they're really important in English Lit), and he suggested we used colours to help us reinforce them. So I finally got to use my highlighters!
Finally, we had Politics. The whole lesson was pretty much the teacher explaining what we had to do for our first homework task. As much as I would have preferred to get stuck into the actual specification (which seems like it will never happen... everything just feels like an induction), I have to say it really did help me answer the question. Hopefully I'll end up with a good essay!
Me and a friend had to take a different way home due to the incessant amount of traffic there was. Sure, it took longer for me to get home, but it was worth it cos I had some great convo, and a friendship that's looking pretty reinforced! (Don't judge me. I couldn't find a better word. And yet, I'm an English student...)
P.S: I'm honestly really hoping that I become close to the people I'm starting to see as my friends. They really seem like nice people and I really want to be involved in everything they do together, even though I understand they might have lots and lots of history together. Still - it's early days, innit?
Q: What is your favourite A Level lesson so far?
