We're on Easter holidays which is a notoriously bad time to reach any university department (especially admissions) so I'm not surprised... but why the rush? 2009 entry is ages away, so I'd advise waiting til term starts again (start of May)..

I e-mailed them 2 weeks ago... I just want to get my options clear early on, so I can properly research the course (in depth)

the staff at imperial should all be back from easter holidays by now. maybe try phoning them?

I don't know for certain but I would think almost certainly APs would be accepted. They are treated as A-level equivalent for Engineering courses at Imperial. Medicine may have some specific recommendation on the subject selection.

I do not think APs are the same as A-levels, because the former is one year in duration and the latter two years. I received my high school education in the US and now am taking A-levels to apply to medicine in 2009.

AP's are bure *******s

Well Oxford take APs in conjunction with SATS:

and I don't think the duration of study is really relevant - any reasonably clever person can learn the requirements of an A-level in a year.
