Unfortunately not. I wasn't aware of it until I googled it. I hate supermarkets and Tesco with a passion.

I'm aware of some similar schemes but for graduates. ALDI give you a starting salary of £40,000 and an AUDI TT!!! It's very intensive though.

This doesn't seem to be as bad, it starts from a lower level and includes as much studying as actual woking. Does it interest you op?

There's one other essential qualification - a serious amount of ambition.

The idea is that it's training you for a later senior managerial role within the company. It would do you know good working there for a year or so and then dropping out.

Edit: - Chances are you won't mess up your Alevels. However, if you do, and fail to get into your uni, then you can always take a forced year out and resit.

There are as good, in not better, management schemes available to graduates. Try and be more optimisitc.

The question is, can you really see yourself working as a senior manager in a supermarket?

Thank you, you just proved it. As is yours
Tesco managers get paid not very much for quite a lot of work and dedication (for not very much read less than £20k, according to pay notices at the one I work at). If you get into the top band of A level results you can do better...as every single Tescos manager I know would tell you.

You don't start straight into managerial positions...you spend ages as a "Team Leader" who is effectively still a normal employee with a different coloured shirt and who does all the dirty work the manager doesn't want to do. During training you'll do ridiculous hours a week for no extra pay above your baseline salary.

I work in Tescos and love it but I don't want to be there for the rest of my life...as no-one else there does.

If things go wrong then you can go to a less prestigious university, but still a decent one. There are plenty of universities which are 'good' but not top which don't require brilliant grades. Otherwise, you could also do a postgraduate qualification afterwards to better yourself in the employment market.
Hi guys,

Thanks for you information on this scheme, I'm just about to leave college in 3 weeks and I'm on target to get Distinction, Merit, Merit. Although I'm not a real bookworm so I have declined uni applications. I love retail and so far I've made it through stage 1 and I've been invited for a telephone interview, does anyone know what questions they ask ? (I have a rough Idea).

My other dilema is that I currently work at 'Netto' and they've offered me an assistant management position with keyholder status after two years of training and on job experience. Do you think I should stay with netto or go to Tesco if I make it ???? Thanks for the information too...

Thats in place of A levels I believe, this scheme is for people already with A levels
wow cool...i want to get good grades in my a-levels, not because i want to go to uni or get some good job...but because i want to spend the rest of my life working in a supermarket
Hi,

Sorry for the late reply purple.. The salary at Netto's pays roughly £17,000 where as at Tesco they pay £18,000. What would you suggest? I think Tesco would offer better job prospects.
plus, netto is scandinavian for value.

You know who you must kill my young padawan.
