Hiya, Im asking on behalf of my friend who want to know where she can go with these GCSEs for medicine. She got AAAB at AS and is predicited 3A* in Biology Chemistry and Physics.
English Lang 7
Lit 7
Maths 9
Chem A*
Bio A*
Physics A*
RS A
Textiles A*
French A*
Latin A
So 4A and 5A* and 1A**. Is she wise to apply to GCSE heavy universities?

Not GCSE heavy like Birmingham which differentiates between a and * and therefore would score less points as they score top eight subjects including certain ones or Cardiff which look at 9 top grades and score a and * different with 24-27 points being recent thresholds for interview. Other than a few like that, a lot of med schools should be ok so long as she does her research and as with all med applicants applies to her strengths
