teeth and dentist

ok so im 18 and the last time i went to the dentist was a bout 8 years ago (my dentist left and then my mum just sort of left it...) ive had tooth ache a few times, but nothing too much. two of my wisdom teeth have come through and the tird is coming atm. three weeks ago, i broke one of my molars. didnt even know it had happened - thought it was somethign disgusting in the chicken i was eating and as i was at a friends i didnt make a thing of it. it was only as the leftovers got thrown in the bin - along with my piece of tooth - that i realised what had happened! wasnt sore at all. couple of days later and the gum was a bit swollen, but went down again.
i brush my teeth twice daily and although they are not brilliant white, they seemed quite healthy. the tooth has broken at the gumline and about a quarter of it is missing.
i have a dental appt tomorrow and i was just wondering what might happen. what will happen with my broken tooth??? will she be angry/surprised that i havent been sooner if its due to decay etc.

also, another thing...i dont eat loads of sugary foods, but im overweight (BMI 36). will she automatically think that i just eat loads of sugary stuff which is why it broke?? and if its due to decay or something, will she think im just some fat person who eats too much and make me feel uncomfortable????

your dentist will know what you eat by looking at your teeth any ways but he/she wont judge you she/he is not there for that! I know I need fillings but I cant afford it. I suggest get your teeth made all pretty now whilst it does not cost you anything! no go to the dentist and get your teeth made beautiful!

Your dentist is not their to judge you but to advice you on what the best course of action is to make your teeth as healthy as they can be and fix the problem in hand. While i am not sure exactly what they will do (maybe a crown/cap?) they will explain everything too it before anything happens and you have nothing to worry about.

Im glad the title was teeth and dentisit and not say, teeth and optictians.

Anyway, they wont care, they'll just do the best they can to fix it. Everytime I go in one or other of my teeth caps have come off from playing rugby, he justs fixes it again and sends me on my way, knowing next time I come chances are the same one will be missing.
