The Student Room Group

From the guys point of view..

Try and picture yourself in this scenario:

So you break up with your long-term gf cos the love seems to have fizzled out, you're a little sad about this: you're still attracted to her, you still care about her and you still admire her, but you just don't feel in love with her anymore :s-smilie:

You immediately get into a relationship with a friend who you know has fancied you for a long time, you don't actually find her physically attractive but she's happy and nice and she really really likes you, plus you get to have sex

Your old gf tries to get you back but you really don't see a relationship with her working and you tell her that. She hits you in the face when drunk but you forgive her when you see how sorry she is. You also tell her to stay away from you until she is over you, and that once she is you can be friends

She stays away from you

Under what circumstances would you consider getting back with the original girl?

I mean obv 'falling for her again' but what excatly could make you do that?

If it's happened to you, how?

I'd never get back with her.

No offence, but I don't think you should be in a relationship with the other girl just for the sex, I mean as long as she knows you don't really feel the same way then okay, but if she has her hopes up thinking you really like her now you're with her then she'll feel awful if you just dump her to get back with the other girl. Just a thought.

She hit you. In the face. And you're asking under what cirumstances you should get back with her? Good one.

Perhaps if the current girlfriend threatened to break my jaw every time i approached her, i'd get back with the former girl. No feelings = no relationship, end of.
