Modules like that are for the old spec I think, now it's the new maths/further maths A-levels

(Unless you are talking about the books FP1 and FP2, in which case I don't know what goes on!)

The spec says you have to do 2 papers tho

I think for the full A-level further maths you do the 2 core pure maths books and then 2 further options of your choosing, so I would guess that AS is only half of that (1 core pure + 1 of choosing?)

Just checked edexcel, theres 2 papers.
1. (further) core pure mathematics paper, which is essentially the AS Year 1 Core Pure maths textbook.
2. The second paper is a mix of two extra 'modules' that you choose, but both are tested in 1 paper. You choose a combination of anything between Further Mechanics (FM), Further Stats (FS), Decision (D), and Further Pure Maths (FP), and there are 2 'levels' of each. So for example for my second paper I could choose FM1 and FM2, or FS1 and FS2, or FS1 and FM1, or D1 and FP1, or FP1 and FP2, essentially any logical combination which doesn't have a '2' unless you are taking the '1' subject with it too (e.g. not D1 and FP2). I've probably explained it badly, and probs even wrong too, but check out the official page, it also gives you the 10 options for combinations you have:

the two further options are both AS and A2. you do a bit in the first year, and the rest in the second year.

Hi, I study further maths currently, and what most colleges do is that the further maths modules are studies in the 2nd year of 6th form. There are two books for edexcel: Core Pure 1 and 2. Plus there are two further books which you have to study and that can take the range of Further Statistics, Mechanics and decision.
