How many tests to you do in your GCSE's

So, This year I'm going to Year11 and I'm a level 2,3 student I don't know what to do with the Gcse's how many tests do u need to do in total hopefully I'll get a Grade 5 or higher.. but what do u need to do for me to improve please help me

depends what subjects you do; what are your options?. i'll just go through the core subjects.
english lit, you'll sit two papers, english lang, you'll sit two papers and you'll also do a spoken english assessment which has no connection towards your other grades.
maths, you'll sit three and for each of the sciences you'll sit two papers; so six science papers altogether.
