weight gain?

if a person has been eating healthy and sticking to their diet for 6 weeks and lost weight but allows themselves to eat more and overeat during three days after those 6 weeks will their hard work go to waste and will they gain weight again even if they start to eat healthy and work out more after those 3 days of overeating?
Look at it the other way around- if you dieted for three days would you expect to lose the same amount of weight as you would in 6 weeks AND keep the weight off? You wouldn't so the same principle applies the other way around. You would see a slight fluctuation, some bloating and water retention but you wouldn't be likely to gain more than a pound or two.

On average 1 lb is 3000 excess calories. That's an extra 1000 calories a day for each of those three days. Don't get me wrong, it's not difficult to go way over if you're just eating whatever you want whenever you want. But that would still only equal 1 lb of gain. So relaxing what you eat for a few days is highly unlikely to have a lasting impact.

We are what we do most of the time and if 90% of the time you're working out and eating well then that 10% isn't going to make much of a dent!
