I’m thinking of taking a level politics but I have no idea what it would be like. I think I would really enjoy the British part of it but I’m from Northern Ireland so a lot of it is about Northern Ireland politics and the parties, which I dabbed on a little at GCSE history and HATED it. I don’t know whether to take it and just get through the Irish politics part and then later enjoy the British & American politics modules or not?? asking for a friend 😂

In my course we barely touch on NI, it just comes up on occasion when discussing devolution, BREXIT and electoral systems. It's really a small part of the British politics part. I also did NI for History GCSE about the Troubles which isn't party of the A Level politics course, it will only be named dropped in lessons probably.

Majority of my course is British Politics, but we also do political ideologies and International Politics.
