To do a vets degree, you seem to need 40-80 animal related work experience, which can be done in the form of just a week long placement(s).

My question is, will it make me look better (aka more likely to be accepted for the degree) if I have had a regular animal related job? As in every Saturday volunteering at an animal shelter for a few months for example, as opposed to just an odd week at a place.

    Bonus questions:

Also, will just any old job look good, or does it have to be animal related? And does it matter if it's paid or not?
