Distinguish business economics from pure economics

Hi @Sahil.singh,

I've been in touch with the Programme Leader for Economics and they have let me know:

"While economic principles, theories and applications are at the heart of both degrees, the Economics degree provides a greater coverage of theory and quantitative approaches.

Business Economics, on the other hand, enables students to study (as essentially a minor route - i.e. about 25% of each level) another business subject or language. The trade-off is that their degree is less mathematical. Quantitative techniques, important as they are for economists, still feature (e.g. in the common first year) but there is less scope for their development. Business Economics is a good choice to have as a broader degree. Incorporating another business subject or language, is clearly appealing to some students whereas others prefer a more mathematical approach".

Hope that helps.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Heather
