My History coursework question (Edexcel, Pearson):

' Historians have disagreed about the extent to which the Holocaust was a long-term
plan.
What is your view about the extent to which the Holocaust was a long-term plan? '

Has anyone done this at A - level?

How do I start it?
How do I structure it?
What points do I make / what arguments can I make?
What books are good to use?
What other resources can I use to help me with this question?

The specification (my question is right at the bottom):

https://qualifications.pearson.com/c...-Questions.pdf

I currently have no clue HOW to approach this question! So I'm just going to make some notes on the points under the 'summary of differences in interpretation ' section of the spec.

Any other advice on how to get an A ( A* is my target!) on this???

Thank you in advance!

  • holocaust wasn't planned
  • german soldiers gained a lot of power
  • when power falls into the wrong hands, atrocities happen
  • hitler wanted to erase the Jews because he was jealous of them?
  • because jews were smart people and worked in top professions

Don’t actually think I can help you, but if it’s any consolation I’m in the same boat as you and have no idea where I’m going with my history coursework, except mine is on black civil rights in America
