Rolls_Reus_Owner's GYG Thread
The Struggle to Success
Year 13

Before you even look below, I would personally read this old gyg to show how I was before so you can kinda see how everything has changed: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho...396&highlight=

Hi, I am about to start one of the most stressful years of my life and which is the last year of 6th form (YEAR 13).The main reason I have made this GYG is to show the people that no requirements will stop me from being who I want to be. I also need motivation for this to work lol and any advice in revision for my subjects specifically would be helpful. Any questions will be answered as soon as possible.

Background:
Spoiler:
Show
I have absolutely no clue what I want to do after uni. But I know I like math & I wanna build stuff so thats why I want to do ENgineering

Hobbies
Spoiler:
Show
-PS4
-Thinking
-Football
-Badminton
-Building/Designing stuff
-Inventing ideas in my head

GCSE Grades:

Spoiler:
Show
Mathematics - 6 (Hard work pays off but A LOT more work went into A-levels)
Core Science - A (Loved science, A*s all the way but got a B in cw )
Additional Science - B (Went OK but could've been better)
Further Additional Science - C (One of the BIGGEST L's of my life, Bio im surprised i got a C, Chem i was 100% sure I was getting A*, DONT START about Physics (Biggest L)) But, I've moved on from this...
English Language - 5 (Oh well)
English Literature - 7 (I HATE English with all my heart... Never doing it again)
ICT - B (expected higher since it's basically common sense but oh well that explains a lot....)
Computer Science - C (only A* in cw and C in exam )
Geography - A (I found the exams very hard, I'm sure my paper was mixed up with someone else lol )(Apparently 30% was an A or something stupid like that XD)
Business Studies - B (From an E, not bad)
PE Lvl 1 sportsmanship award - Pass
PRE - B (I'll take it, living internationally for a part of my life )
Citizenship - C (Scraped C in cw, scraped A in exam so meh)

Subjects Taken:

Spoiler:
Show
Mathematics (Edexcel): Love Maths, my favourite subject for a reason
Geography (AQA): BORING, very Boring but tolerable
Computer Science (OCR): It's decent but not too great so I'm not really keen to do it at Uni
Psychology (Edexcel) (Dropped February Year 12): Interesting but not relevant
English Literature (I forgot what exam board) (Dropped 2 weeks in.. I hated it with a passion)

As February-Mocks:
Spoiler:
Show
Mathematics - U (I worked so hard to mess it up..)
Geography - E (Wasn't expecting this)
Computer Science - E (Expected)
Psychology - E (Don't care since it's getting dropped)

As Mocks:
Spoiler:
Show
Mathematics - C (2% off a B which ticked me off. However still an amazing achievement) I got an A in the RETAKE !
Geography - A (Not expecting this but I'm happy with it. (Just need to do it in the real thing))
Computer Science - E (Kinda expected as I neglected it for maths but that's changed)

Good luck! I went from achieving DEEU at AS to getting ABB at A2. Many told me/hinted i was dumb and should settle for a lesser path in life, but with hard work i was able to improve in a short amount of time.
Your goal is totally possible but only if you put enough effort in!

Day 3 - 4/9/18

Ya boi is back. I went to a few local libraries on quest to search for some engineering books to get a better understanding on it. I cam across a book called Modern Engineering Mathematics Forth Edition which I found interesting to read. I will borrow it next time I go and use it to add information in my personal statement!

Today, I will also be doing (Right Now):
- Binomial Coefficients(Done)

Need to be fully confident for this math retake since its a hard one to pass.

Special: I like various types of music which is cool I guess so here is my song recommendation.

Thanks for Reading

I assume you take Bio and chem (lucky you lol). Bio is just memorising a lot of stuff and applying to different situations so it is recommended that you do as many past papers as possible and the same thing for chem. Smash that UKCAT/BMAT and go conquer your A-levels!

Yeah the change is crazy, I don't think that you'd ever have thought that you'd be like this a few months ago.
