Insurance and Cars

I might buy a car today, but was wondering if it's possible to leave it parked outside my house without insurance but with tax? I'm really confused to how this works and don't want to break any laws or anything😩
If it's on the road it needs to be insured and taxed. You need to fill out a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notice) if you don't want to tax/insure it but want to keep it on private land (drive way or garage).

Your car cannot be taxed and uninsured.
Your car cannot be sorn'd on a public road.

Cheers for the advice, I didn't buy the car, I'm buying it on Saturday instead
You also can't tax a car without an active insurance policy.
