same thing happened to my friend this morning. She got it one of them false Instagram 16 Oyster card pages. When she tapped, it bleeped red and it says “card stopped”. I’m not too sure what happens - heard a mixture of different things such as 1) you’ll get a criminal record, you’ll have to go jail 2) you have to pay a fine either 40-80 pounds or 1K 3) or apparently you don’t get a letter or nothing. I’m not too sure. If anyone’s card has stopped, what has happened? Have you rececived letter?

Hi guys,

one of my mate has been caught with 16+ oyster card he is 21 years old but looks 17 or 18 but still using the 16+ oyster card. basically he met a guy online and paid him to make this oyster card . unfortunately today he got caught and inspector took his details and said TFL will be in touch.
I am wondering will he get a fine?
or prosecuted to court and get a criminal record?
if that so a criminal record will destroy his and career.
he is guilty now but any help will be helpful

My card also stopped working last year. Within 2 weeks I got a letter from TfL. I went to court yesterday and i got a suspended prison sentence plus costs of £1600.
i got caught and TFL has sent me a letter asking my name and my national insurance number .should i ignore it ? or call them and tell them that i do not have national insurance number ?please help

cheating is morally wrong. if you have integrity then you wouldn't resort to such behaviour. if you're religious and you dodge fares or use a fraudulent card then you're committing a sin. do the right thing. cos if you get caught then the consequences can be dire as this girl found out.

When I was 16 I used a Child Ticket and got stopped at the ticket station. I had only turned 16 but the Child Train Ticket was for up to 16 and the guy was being so rude about it, saying he knows I am 18 and it looks like I am going to a bar tonight and that I will be taken to court bla bla bla. The way he was talking to me literally scared me so I told the truth after he kept pestering me for my age and he said you're going to be fined but I never was. If I did it again I probably would
