Have I made the right decision? Sixth form URGENT

So i moved to another sixth form optionally. This sixth form they say that it gets the best grades in the borough (I live in London) My previous school year where i stayed through year 7-11 is not too bad either though. All my friends stayed here and i do want to be with them. Whereas i want better grades ofcourse for my A Levels. I do sometimes feel like I should go back to my previous school however I sometimes feel like im resisting myself to go. My sister had gone to the previous school sixth form and adviced me to stay in the new school as its better and you’ll make new friends and the same with my mum but ultimately its my choice. Any help, Thanks

How far apart are the average attained grades?
I suspect its just nerves. Grades get you into better unis, even if you dont enjoy it.

Hard to comment without some hard details, but i would stay at the new school and try to keep socialising going with ex schoolmates.

Hi,

It can always be difficult to change to something new, especially if your friends are somewhere else, but it’s certainly worth giving the new Sixth Form a chance before making any final decisions.

As you already mention, you’ll soon have new friends who you can rely on for support in your new setting and your old friends are always going to be there to speak to even if you may not see them every day!

It’s likely that a lot of the other students are going through similar emotions at the moment as well and it will just take a little while before everyone finds their feet.

I would certainly recommend looking to see if there are any clubs, teams or societies which you can get involved with as in those situation, you know you’ll have at least one thing in common with the others!

I hope this helps but feel free to get back in touch if there’s anything else we can help with!

Good luck!
