Okay so I completed my A levels on 2016 and I want to start uni next year (yup ! I took two gap years) so the University I applied to has asked me about to write a personal statement explaining why I took these gap years .im failing to come up with the best way to make my stamement more appealing please help

I took a gap year after my first year uni, no one asked me to mention it.

You need to talk about what you did during that time, the reasons why you decided to take the gap years, how you have kept your academic skills up to date, any particular experience you developed during this time. You just need to be honest, but also try to demonstrate that you have done useful things during that time.
