Are 2 A-levels, 1AS + an EPQ enough to get into a Russel Group University? Watch

Hey so I've received my AS results which were not what I was expecting. I got DEE. The D was in history, E's in biology and chemistry. History is my strongest subject and i enjoy it. I don't find it particularly hard hence why I took it for granted and ended up with a D so that's my fault but i know I can get an A at A2. I like Biology too even though it's definitely no walk in the park, the exam just went wayward for me. Chemistry on the other handdd! I regret choosing it and want to drop it. With my grades I may not be able to progress into year 13 with my current subjects but my school did give me the option to continue with A2 history and choose 2 new a-levels which means I'll sit the A2 exam next year and the 2 AS's the year after plus an EPQ. I don't really want to do an EPQ (at all) but it's not the end of the world i guess I'll just have to go along with it. But I'm still gonna try and push to continue biology along with the history at A2 plus a new A-level. I just wanna know if that's fine to get into university in 2020 despite sitting 1 or 2 A levels a year prior. I'm aiming for a Russel Group. Thanks

I have slightly the same problem, But I got ABE and my school isnt allowing me to continue Biolgogy which I got the E in, so I am kinda annoyed now and dont know what to do. They said pick another AS. but I am thinking of doing biology privately but I have heard its hard so I might just do an AS work on the 2 A2 subjects in the first year, then I will only have to work on 1 A level the next year

I heard biology is hard too but there's nothing stopping me from trying i guess plus I'm willing to put the work in. I was told I can't just do 1/2 A-levels next year hence why they said I should do an EPQ as well which is annoying

If guess we are on the same boat, I also want to go to a russel group uni, So I would say either do the new AS and so next year complete the A Level, (I know another year sounds daunting but its not that bad) or do the subject which they arent letting you do, and do it privately so you will have 3 A levels by the end of this year.

You can even do the EQP along side the last A Level since there is nothing else to do. So in the end you would have 3 A Levels and a EPQ.
