what's the big deal about shankskunk redemption?

a guy kills someone and just because it's played by velvet-voiced morgan freeman, it's ok and he's every fan boi's hero? am I watching the same movie? doesn't anyone else have some serious reservations about Red?

I think if you only watched it because of the hype that was surrounding it, your expectations of the film were built to unrealistic levels. Perhaps if you'd watched the film without any pre-conceptions you would've enjoyed it a lot more.

I think the film has a beautiful storyline, and it's one of the few films that I truly enjoyed which had a good and pure ending. Majority of films I like end devastatingly or as a plot twist.

Each to their own I guess.
