What are your opinions on schools, colleges and universities encouraging students to complete personality tests as part of a course tutorial, lecture, etc.?

Look forward to your responses.

Kind regards,
Chad

Moved to University life.

Never had to do one of these for a university, feels a bit intrusive.:erm:

But if it's in a seminar with an educational purpose then yeah sure.

I believe personality tests, specifically ones which analyse the big five traits (neuroticism, conscientiousness, openness, agreeableness and extraversion) are effective tools in helping to understand ourselves and our strengths and weaknesses. Never been made to do one in an academic context but I can see how it would be useful.
