Shame. It always used to. Lighten up a bit  It was a joke.

I never remember talking to you? Anyway I look forward to your pictures of your Maserati  :h:
We didn't speak hugely - mainly when Nirvana, Hezzlington etc used to be on here more.

I don't have a Maserati. Too foreign. I'd stick to an Aston Martin.

Beautiful cars indeed, very classy. You never know, one day you might own one for yourself

Any good suggestions for a first car, I have a £1000 budget so any nice cars for that price and under?

Maybe go for a car that is 2nd hand to start off with, then once you’re more experienced on the road by yourself then get a decent car?

For my first car I had a Ford Fusion, was quite a nice little car to get me started. I brought it off one of my dads friends for £800.
I do already.

does it start? buy it
Had a breakdown of how much a 2.2 facelift diesel jag costs to run and own, and what your first few years would be looking at, but then I just decided to leave it at this:

Lol, be cheaper to own an RX8.
I personally would say a 2003 - 2004 Yaris. I have owned mine for nearly 6 years and its served me well. cheap 1ltr engine, cheap road tax, insurance and steady on the petrol. Easy to manage. Not very strong but works well under normal usage. Driving with a full set of passangers can feel different but other than that I have been happy with mine.

I think loooads of people will say get this get that but really its all down to you and you will learn your own way what feels right and what doesnt.

if its your first car and your under 21 I would suggest something like a yaris or any 1ltr engine bubble car. Just check the history thoroughly look out for re-occuring faults, go private and make sure its from a normal working family or pensioners that want to get rid. dont get it from some dude that has ragged it around communities or motorways etc.

and have a little test drive in it too.
As a first car maybe something not too fancy so you won’t be as worried about scratching it etc.

I’ve just started driving and have a Skoda Fabia mk1, it’s 18 years old but drives really nicely. I have no idea if this is a good car to buy though, I have mine because it used to be my nans so I sort of inherited it.

I think having an older car when you’re a new driver helps you to become a better driver, as you don’t have the help of things like hill start assist and parking sensors, you have to do it all yourself  I will definitely get a car with those things later on but I will know I can do without them.

I'd go for a used VW Golf, Ford Escort or other small-sized vehicle that will have lower running and insurance costs. They're also proven performers that are likely to give you less trouble with maintenance over time.
