would there be any chance of an essay coming up the third time?

For those doing Britain for Section 1 and USA for section 2 I have made a table showing what has come up in the past years and following the pattern you may be able to tell what's coming but you never know, they may surprise us. The table does show that some q's have come up 2 years in a year so just cos it came up last year doesn't mean it won't come up this year.

I’m guessing it’s probably very unlikely tbh but I guess it’s better to be prepared just in case

does anyone know if there's any online tests/quizzes regarding either: Britain 1851-1951 or USA 1918-1968 or Wars of Independence? I can't seem to find any online

Ah okay. I'm doing the exact same except from the Tsar essays. Here are my factors for each one:
Success of the October Revolution
- Weakness of provisional government
- Economic prolems
- Appeal of the Bolsheviks
Reasons for the 1905 Revolution
- Peasant discontent
- Workers discontent
- Japanese war OR Bloody Sunday
February Revolution 1917
- Role of Tsar Nicholas II
- Peasant discontent
- Workers discontent

* I have gone for the most simple factors as they are the easiest to remember and can be briefly changed for the other essays. So, you could get better ones from just looking on the SQA website! (:

If you go through the past papers you should see a pattern.

Ok I had a look, to me it looks like nationalisation, how nazis achieved power and how unification was achieved will come up. But this isn’t certain so make sure you learn all your essays.

There always seems to be a pattern that I noticed when doing higher history. The SQA always use one of the topics/issues that came up in the previous year but word this differently obviously. Then the three other issues that didn't come up in the previous year, two of these are used. I got away with just learning two out of the three that hadn't came up :-)

Britain
Last year was how democratic, liberal motives & women & vote.
I predict that one of these comes up. The other two essay topics will come from either why democracy, liberal effectiveness or labour reforms.

Germany
Last year was extent of nationalism, obstacles to unification & why unification was achieved. I predict that one of these comes up. The other two essay topics will come from either rise of nazis, nazis in power or growth of nationalism.
